I have a tradition of trying something traditional from the cuisine in every country.
In China, I decided to try something “really local”. I went to a small restaurant where the menu was only in Chinese.
I poked my finger into the first one I saw and got... noodle soup with some weird meat. I tried to find out what it was, but the waiter just laughed. Then I found out it was a donkey.
I was upset at first, but the soup turned out to be very tasty. Now I tell everyone that I've tasted donkey. But of course I felt sorry for the donkey.
