friendship became real.

When I was a student I was once left with no money at all at the end of the month. My friend gave me the money without a word, saying: “You don't have to pay me back, you'll help me someday.” I will never forget that gesture.  He and I are still friends, even though we live in different cities. We have already helped each other many times. I think that's when our friendship became real.
