Then, in December, we decided to meet. I invited her to Switzerland for Christmas, and she accepted. When I saw her for the first time at Zürich airport, my heart raced. She was even more beautiful in person her eyes filled with excitement, her laughter like music. That weekend, we walked through the snowy streets of Lucerne, drank mulled wine at a Christmas market, and took a train to Zermatt to see the Matterhorn. Standing there, with the mountains behind us and the crisp winter air around us, I knew this was it.
