The Drunk Best Man Speech

I use this dating site because it was recommended to me by my friend Tom. So, my best friend Tom got married last summer. Everything was perfect  the weather, the venue, the bride looked stunning.
Then came my turn to give the best man speech. I’d had a few drinks by then. Ok, maybe more than a few.
I stood up, tapped my glass, and said, Tom… I’ve known you since we were kids, and I gotta say… you’re punching way above your weight with this one.
The room went dead silent. The bride’s dad stared daggers at me.
Realizing I messed up, I quickly added, I mean… she’s amazing, right? We’re all lucky Tom found someone willing to put up with him!
Everyone laughed, but man… Tom still hasn’t let me live it down.
