Elevator Surprise

I was headin' to a meeting, runnin' a bit late. Got in the elevator, pressed the button, and suddenly, the doors opened on another floor.
This lady walks in, lookin’ a bit stressed. She was holdin' a bunch of papers, and they went flyin’ everywhere.
I bent down to help her pick them up, and right when I handed her the last one, I realized… I was still on one knee.
She looked at me, blinked, and said, Are you… proposing?
I turned red as a tomato, stumbled out of the elevator, and ran to my meeting. Never saw her again, but man, I hope she didn’t think I was serious.
